SPENCER GALLAGHER No. 23 Allegiant Chevrolet Camaro
Auto Club Recap
Spencer Gallagher and the No. 23 Allegiant team showcased strength and speed throughout the weekend. Gallagher started the 150-lap race from the 18th position and quickly made his way into the top-15 in opening laps. Gallagher reported to the GMS Racing crew that he was experiencing a tight-handling chassis on the throttle. The Las Vegas native raced within the top-15 for the majority of the race and reached as high as the eighth position. Crew chief Joey Cohen called Gallagher to pit road on the final caution of the day to put right side tires on and restarted in the second position. On the restart, Gallagher fell back in the field due to the majority of the competitors taking four tires. Gallagher crossed the start-finish line in the 19th position in his second start at Auto Club Speedway.
Quote “We had a strong Allegiant Chevy all weekend. The car was great. The best car we have brought to an intermediate track yet. I did have some balance issues during the race but the GMS Racing crew and Joey (crew chief, Cohen) fixed me up. We gambled and took two instead of four tires there at the end and that cost us. Overall we had a strong weekend and I couldn’t be more proud of this team.”
Additional Info – Gallagher is in the 29th position in NXS Driver points.
