Sheldon Creed, No. 2 United Rentals Chevrolet Silverado
START: 3rdFINISH: 22ndPOINTS: 10th
Notes & Quotes:—– During a pt stop at the end of stage one, Creed had a broken jack bolt that forced the No. 2 team to make repairs in the garage. They returned to the race 14 laps down, but Creed persevered for a top-25 finish.- With his third place qualifying effort at Texas Motor Speedway, Sheldon Creed has qualified in the top-10 in every race this season.”Our race started off really good. I was happy with how the No. 2 Chevy was running, a little tight at the beginning and people were racing pretty hard around us. I feel like we had a shot at that first stage win, but we finished the stage in fourth which was good. Then a jack bolt screw sheared in half which was unfortunate and put us behind the wall. Overall it wasn’t what we wanted but we’re improving. We had a fast truck all night. It was fast on long run speeds and it never fell off so I’m happy with it. We’re improving as a team and I learned quite a bit tonight just with the air and how to drive. Really worked on my patience tonight and that was good. Not all bad, I think tonight might turn out to be a really good learning night for us and we just don’t know it.”
Brett Moffitt, No. 24 Allegiant Chevrolet Silverado
Notes & Quotes:—– Brett Moffitt led five times for a total of 33 laps in the Vankor 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.- Moffitt was a victim of late race contact that cut a right rear tire, forcing him to pit road and ultimately ending his battle for the win.- With tonight’s second place qualifying effort, Moffitt has started inside the top 10 in every race in the 2019 season.”The Allegiant Chevy was really fast, we would’ve had something for Kyle (Busch) at the end there but we were racing hard and I had to check up and we got contact from the No. 99 and it cut our right rear. We had to pit and it ended any shot we had. The entire GMS organization continue to bring fast trucks to the race track and it makes it a lot of fun for me to drive them. One of these days luck will be on our side and we’ll get to victory lane. We’ve been so close so many times already this year, I think this one was just a little harder to deal with.”
