GMS Racing NCWTS Atlanta Recap

By February 24, 2019 News
Sheldon Creed, No. 2 A.M. Ortega Chevrolet Silverado
START: 4th FINISH: 12th POINTS: 10th
Notes & Quotes:—– With his 12th place finish Creed moves to the top 10 in driver points for the first time in his NGOTS series career.- Creed was assessed with a pit road speed violation in the final stage of the race.”This race was definitely a learning curve for me. We started extremely tight and worked to improve on it all night, but it was still very tight. Late in the race we made a mistake on pit road, then I got called for a speeding penalty and that just sealed it for us at the end of the race. It’s frustrating because without those mistakes I’m confident we would’ve been up there all night, a top 8 finish for sure. Tonight was a test of patience for me but it helped me learn where to hit my marks every lap and get a rhythym of sorts for the mile-and-a-half tracks coming up. Looking forward to next week where Las Vegas is sure to be a completely different test for us.”
Brett Moffitt, No. 24 Chevy Accessories Chevrolet Silverado
START: 3rd FINISH: 4th POINTS: 7th
Notes & Quotes:—– Brett Moffitt captured his first Top 5 finish of the season and the 17th of his NGOTS career.- Moffitt was forced to serve a penalty during the first stage break for an uncontrolled tire on a pit stop.- Moffitt moves to seventh in the NGOTS driver standings.“Bringing home a fourth-place finish is great momentum for us moving forward. Overall, we need to execute better as a team on and off pit road to avoid some of these costly mistakes. Fortunately, we had enough speed to make up for it tonight. Going forward we need to improve on this package a bit. We worked on it all night to improve the handling but we still have a few steps to take with the package as a whole. I’m excited to go to Las Vegas next week and see what we can do there compared to tonight.”
