GMS Racing Secures Milestone Victory to Become Winningest Chevrolet Team in NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series History

STATESVILLE, NC (June 20th, 2023): As the confetti settled and the victory celebration came to a close at World Wide Technology Raceway, the news hit Grant Enfinger that he became a part of history. Unbeknownst to the driver of the No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet Silverado RST, his win propelled GMS Racing Team Owner, Maury Gallagher, to a huge accomplishment.

Delivered by Enfinger, team win no. 44 officially stamps GMS Racing as the winningest Chevrolet team in NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series history, a title that was last held by Kevin Harvick, Inc. since November, 2011. All of the organization's NCTS wins have been captured in Chevrolet Silverado trucks, emphasizing the strong relationship held with the manufacturer since the team's inception.

"It's definitely impressive to see what Maury Gallagher and Mike Beam have built out of this place. I remember racing here in the early days of the team, not from the very beginning, but close to it when they earned their first Truck Series win, so it's pretty cool to see how much progress has been made, how many wins they have accumulated, and how many banners have been hung on our shop walls. It's pretty cool to be a part of that, for sure." said Enfinger following his victory.

GMS Racing was formed in 2012, originating in the ARCA Menards Series with Maury's son, Spencer Gallagher. In 2013, the organization entered in three Truck Series races before going full-time in the series the following year. In 2015, Austin Dillon took Gallagher to victory lane for the first time in the Truck Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The team's first victory soon turned into multiple wins, which eventually turned into Truck Series championships (first with Johnny Sauter in 2016 and then with Sheldon Creed in 2020).

On top of the NCTS success, GMS Racing has won numerous races in other series such as the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East, as well as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West divisions. The team has also won championships in the ARCA Menards Series (2015), ARCA Menards Series East (2020), and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (2019).

“Maury Gallagher, Mike Beam and everyone at GMS Racing have been great partners to Chevrolet since the organization entered the Truck Series a decade ago,” said Dayne Pierantoni, GM Racing Program Manager for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. “We’ve had an incredible history together both on and off the track, and their partnership has been a key component to Chevrolet’s success in the series.”

The list of drivers who have won Truck Series races for the organization is extensive, including the likes of Johnny Sauter (13 wins); Sheldon Creed (8 wins); Brett Moffitt (5 wins); Grant Enfinger (4 wins); Zane Smith & Justin Haley (3 wins each), Chase Elliott (2 wins); Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson, Ben Kennedy, Kaz Grala, Timothy Peters, and Sam Mayer (1 win a piece).

Since Enfinger's latest win came in a Triple Truck Challenge race, he earned an additional $50,000 bonus on behalf of series entitlement sponsor, CRAFTSMAN. Should he find his way back in the winner's circle in the next event at Nashville Superspeedway, he will be awarded an additional bonus, raising the prize money total to $150,000.

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will return to Nashville Superspeedway on Friday, June 23rd. Tune-in to FOX Sports 1 at 8:00 PM ET for live coverage of the Rackley Roofing 200. Stay up-to-date with further news and highlights from GMS Racing on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. #WeAreGMS
